Mosquito Abatement District of Davis proposes modest property tax increase; public hearing set Dec. 11

City Manager David Larson told the South Weber City Council that the Mosquito Abatement District—Davis is proposing to increase its property tax revenue. "The Mosquito Abatement District-Davis tax on a $600,000.00 (average value of Davis County residence) residence would increase from $30.69 to $38.61, which is $7.92 per year," Larson reported.
Larson said the district will hold a public hearing on the proposed increase on Dec. 11, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at 85 North 600 West, Kaysville, UT 84037. The council received the notification as an item for its meeting records; no formal action by the South Weber City Council was taken at the Nov. 18 meeting.
The change, if adopted by the Mosquito Abatement District, would be assessed by the district rather than by South Weber City. Residents who want to comment in person can attend the district's hearing in Kaysville; the council did not schedule any additional local hearings or motions on this item during the Nov. 18 meeting.
