The Palm Beach County Zoning Commission recommended approval of DOA 202501903, a development order amendment to re‑establish a minor auto service use (Mavis Tire and Brakes) on a 0.68‑acre outparcel at the Military Trail/Belvidere corner of the Belvedere Shopping Center. Scott Bachman, representing the applicant, told the commission the parcel had been approved previously for a drive-through car wash and has been vacant for roughly a decade; the proposal relocates the building to face the street and uses glass bay doors as an architectural upgrade.
Bachman said the applicant met with the Westgate CRA and that staff and the CRA both recommend approval. He told commissioners, "Staff is recommending approval," and noted the use would be limited to minor vehicle repairs ("No major repair occurs on the property"). Commissioners had no disclosures and voted to recommend approval. The commission's recommendation will be forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners per normal review procedures.
