National Grid representative Evan Prusikian presented a petition to install a new 45-foot class pole on Park Street to provide service to new construction at 69 Park Street, which the chair identified as the Greenwood Pool pavilion. "There is a new construction going on at 69 Park Street. And to install the equipment needed to service that building, we need to put a new pole into place," Prusikian said during the committee meeting.
The committee chair explained that under the council's new Rule 22 petitions must appear before two committee meetings before coming to the full City Council, and that the petition will be noticed to abutters. The chair said the petition was received late by the clerk's office and that a public hearing at the City Council is expected in September; the committee tentatively scheduled committee meetings in early and mid-September as part of the two-meeting requirement.
The committee did not take a final vote on the Park Street petition; staff (Engineer Oliver) said he would review the site and issue a memo to the council with any engineering concerns. The item will return for the required second committee appearance and a city council public hearing before any final approval.
