City staff updated the council that the municipal-utilities committee's owner's walkthrough for the new public-works facility is scheduled and that the final fire inspection has been passed, though a few punch-list items remained.
"the final fire inspection was passed," Dave (S3) said, noting building items were addressed and that a final walk-through will precede sign-off on contractors. Staff said once the move-in is complete they intend to hold a public open house but did not set a firm date.
Council members discussed whether to hold a formal noticed public meeting or an informal field-trip-style walkthrough for the full council. Staff said a public open house could occur a few weeks after move-in but they would weigh weather and scheduling, with spring as an option if winter conditions make it impractical.
