Council seeks volunteers to expand youth council; city events planned for May and July

Council member Rex Christensen said winter slows youth-council activity but summer provides opportunities and he sought someone to take primary coordination while he remains involved. The youth council currently has about five members; Council member Jordan Hulsey volunteered to take over coordination and will work with City Manager Jeremy Kimpton on social-media outreach to recruit more participants.
Hulsey reminded the council the city-wide yard sale is scheduled for May 16 and noted it coincides with Perry's yard-sale date, which draws complaints; she said the youth council will again assist with the Fourth of July parade. Council member Mike Braegger also announced the Box Elder Chamber of Commerce annual awards banquet scheduled for April 24 at the fairgrounds with RSVP required by April 14.
