Planning commission backs Kunzler rezone to half-acre lots despite lane and well concerns

Ken Ormond, a member of the Planning Commission, reported the commission reviewed a request to rezone the Kunzler property to half-acre building lots and found the commission members generally in favor of the rezone. Ormond said a previously negotiated PUD agreement had never been signed and so was not in force.
Neighbors and interested parties raised two main concerns: Larry Holmes noted that a 20-foot-wide city lane runs through the middle of the property, a relic of older surveying practices, and Jeff Wells raised questions about wells on the property. City Planner Madison Brown was assigned to coordinate land-use and zoning details with Box Elder County and to check addressing and other cross-jurisdictional issues before the item goes to the council.
