Residents and industry ask council for fuller review of solar and battery storage moratorium

During the public-participation portion of the June 16 meeting Arlene Bronski asked the council to establish a committee to review separating solar installations from battery storage, saying the two are "two different processes" and requesting a status update via Alderman Carpenter. Bronski asked the council to provide a committee review and to keep her notified by email.
Mike Marini, a resident who said he holds a lease on industrial-park land, asked whether the council is getting the information it needs during the city's second moratorium on battery storage and urged the body to consult multiple reliable sources. A representative who identified himself with Carson Power offered to present to the council, the fire department and the public; staff said the corporation counsel will meet with staff and arrange an invitation to brief the council when available.
