Superintendent Ryan Pacatte and Business Manager Kristen Murphy presented the proposed budget, which lists several aspirations carried forward into planning discussions: new staff positions, expanded BOCES services, summer programs previously covered by COVID funds, additional professional learning opportunities, renewal of the SRO contract, a mental-health screener, Z Space computers, and Chromebook insurance coverage. The presentation included a projected use of reserves of $1.5 million and a year-over-year budget increase of 8.26%.
Board members discussed communication plans for the budget and approved enhancements to the budget newsletter to include a three-part breakdown, an expanded tax-rate section, QR codes for more detail, and an update on the capital project. The board voted to adopt the budget for presentation by a 5–0 roll call.
