The Avon Central School District Board of Education presented a proposed 2025–26 budget of $27,652,546 at a budget hearing on May 12, 2025, ahead of a scheduled May 20 vote. Superintendent Ryan Pacatte read the propositions aloud: "PROPOSITION 1: BUDGET in the amount of $27,652,546." "PROPOSITION 2: BUSES expenditure of $230,000." "PROPOSITION 3: VEHICLE AND EQUIPMENT CAPITAL RESERVE FUND withdrawal of $375,000." "PROPOSITION 4: TECHNOLOGY withdrawal of $300,000." The hearing was opened by Board President Rodney George and then turned over to Pacatte for presentation.
Board members also listed candidates on the May 20 ballot for expiring seats and reminded the public of the voting schedule. District Clerk Jen VanRy answered a question from Michael Garrett about absentee voting, saying there have been "about 100 absentee and early ballots requested," and that the list of requesters is available for inspection in the District Clerk’s office starting five days before the vote and on voting day. The budget vote and election will be held May 20 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the middle school library.
