Teachers praise Student Success Team and mentoring efforts at Clinton

Jenny Hartwick identified herself to the board and described Clinton’s Student Success Team, which meets weekly to review behavioral and academic concerns and to brainstorm interventions. Hartwick said the SST has met with almost every teacher so far this year and that early intervention is helping staff address issues before they escalate.
Hartwick also said she serves as the union president and that the district’s first-year mentoring program is helping new teachers plan, assess and manage classrooms. “We have a little program here at Clinton called the student success team,” Hartwick said, describing the weekly meetings and the team’s role in moving students through tiers of MTSS.
