Business manager (staff member) told the board the packet and line-item presentation are intended to give members ownership of how the general fund is broken down and to flag anything that should be changed. “This is our budget for the year,” the business manager said, explaining auditors wanted the board to confirm the line-item allocations. Board members thanked staff for preparing the materials and noted the reports were not always user-friendly but appreciated the opportunity to review the breakdown.
