Commissioners give favorable recommendation to rezoning along US Highway 64

Brett Ragsdale of Planning and Development described the change and affirmed the applicant held a neighborhood meeting on Dec. 23; the applicant's attorney, David Bray, said roughly eight of 25 notified residents attended that meeting. Commissioner Mills, whose district includes the property, said the Land Use Control Board had approved the request with no opposition and supported the item. Commissioners voted to forward the rezoning with a favorable recommendation (4 yes, 1 abstain). The matter will return for final consideration per the normal ordinance schedule.
