Willard City Council approved the appointment of Craig M. Call of Anderson Call & Wilkinson, P.C. to serve as the city’s land-use hearing officer at a rate of $125 per hour.
Mayor Travis Mote said the previous hearing officer retired for medical reasons and the city must have a hearing officer available under state law. Council member Rex Christensen moved to appoint Call and Council member Jacob Bodily seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The appointment ensures the city meets statutory requirements for land-use hearings; the council did not discuss an immediate case to be assigned to the new hearing officer.
