City officials gave routine reports at the start of the meeting. The clerk reported operational statistics for June: 133 birth certificates printed year-to-date (one fewer than last year), 89 death certificates (one more than last year), 44 dog licenses (two fewer), 13 marriage certificates (12 fewer), and 38 new births in the city in June. The clerk noted that the FOIL process is operating more quickly and that manual entries were minimal.
The controller presented a preliminary year-end review for calendar 2026 and said revenue and expenditures are still being posted; final adjustments may continue into September. The controller noted that contingencies were drained in two funds while three funds finished the year with substantial remaining balances and asked the council for questions on the preliminary report.
Council acknowledged both reports and proceeded with the agenda.
