Parks planning staff provided a progress update on capital-improvement projects across the city. The Garland Senior Activity Center interior enclosure and related exterior site work are nearing final inspections; contractors are completing site utilities and paving adjacent to the building. Staff said recent drone photos show substantial progress on the courtyard and main entry.
Work on trails is also underway: staff reported about 1,300 linear feet of trail installed at Wind Joyce Park and additional segments expected soon. The splash-pad design is in near-final review, and staff expect construction next summer. Other projects highlighted included James Park landscaping and striping, Central Park walking-trail irrigation repairs, and coordination with Texas Parks for the John Paul Jones plan set; staff noted bid-timing and said they are monitoring schedules and budget alignment.
