Health staff flag SAMHSA cuts and decommissioning of federal medical stations

The minutes record a WALHDAB notice that the federal government would cut $2 billion to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and that federal medical stations were being decommissioned, with requests to state stockpiles subject to timing constraints.
Staff said they will work toward 2026 PHEP objectives and participate in multi-jurisdictional family assistance planning; an interagency discussion with Emergency Management is scheduled for Jan. 23 to address coordination needs.
