Vernon County health director reports 27 deaths in month, outlines ARPA lab spending

Director of the Vernon County Health Department summarized partner reports for the month, saying the county logged 27 deaths — 12 male and 15 female — with 17 cremations and 10 burials. She told the board that coroner cases represented about 92% of the caseload and broke causes down to 23 natural deaths, one suicide and three accidental deaths.
The director also reviewed department finances: "The income for the month was $2,325 with monthly bills totaling $1,530.12," she said, listing office supplies, AT&T, dues, a toxicology report and funeral-home bills. She said year-end expenses totaled $11,231.57 and the department finished the year at about 85% of its budget. The board approved corrected November minutes and the December minutes during the meeting.
