The Vernon County Board of Health received the coroner's monthly report on Dec. activity during its Jan. 14 meeting. Amy Kleiber, reporting on behalf of Coroner Betty Nigh, said the county recorded 17 deaths in December, noting cremations and burials and providing the coroner's monthly income and expenses.
"For December, Kleiber shared on behalf of Nigh reporting 17 deaths, 17 cremations, 10 burial 0 entombments. 92% were Coroner cases. Monthly income was $2325.00. Monthly expense of $1530.12 reviewed," the minutes state. The board also voted to approve the amended December meeting minutes (motion by Martha Olson; second by Dr. Duane Koons).
