County attorney recommends Cadmus EMR for jail; commission addresses several jail-related contracts
Summary
The county attorney recommended approving an electronic medical records (EMR) software contract (Cadmus) for the jail's medical records, subject to legal review. The county attorney told commissioners the jail is changing medical service providers and that the county must contract for an electronic medical records (EMR) software to store those medical records. He identified the vendor as Cadmus and asked the commission to consider approving a contract subject to his review; the commission moved and authorized the action.
Separately, commissioners rescinded a dietician contract and a previously approved Summit Food contract (both approved earlier in April) and authorized the sheriff to let bids for a new food service vendor. Chairman Beckman said the rescindations and new bid process were necessary to align contracts with current operations.
The county attorney noted that the subscription fee for the EMR would be borne by the medical services provider (3C) and that the county did not yet have a dollar amount to present. Commissioners asked staff to ensure the contract protects county record access, confidentiality and opioid funding qualification needs.
