Several Greenway Trails residents urged the council to prioritize the south side for GO Bond-funded amenities during the public-comment period.
Gino (Geno) Pearson, who said he lives at 10531 Firefly Court, asked the council to direct some of the $20.26 million bond funds toward a multipurpose facility and pickleball courts “so we can enjoy the South Side also in Grand Prairie instead of other communities.”
Holly Smith, an HOA board member and PID president, told councilors she had letters from neighborhood leadership supporting bringing GO Bond amenities to the south and noted ongoing annexation in Goodland Way increases the need for local facilities.
Council acknowledged the comments during consent-agenda public comment and asked staff to communicate with neighborhood leadership about bond implementation and upcoming briefings.
