Plan commission recommends address change for property to 11150 116th Avenue
Summary
The commission recommended changing the official address of a parcel from 11110 110th Street to 11150 116th Avenue to correct addressing after a 2018 street vacation; the village board will hold a public hearing Oct. 27 and, if approved, the change would take effect Jan. 1, 2026.
Staff reported that several parcels retained an obsolete 110th Street address after the 2018 vacation of 110th Street related to the Breeze Terrace development. Village staff and the property owners requested the address change to better reflect the property’s location on 116th Avenue and to avoid emergency‑response and mail‑delivery problems. Rob told the commission the board adopted a resolution on Sept. 22 to initiate the process and scheduled a village board public hearing for Oct. 27.
A commissioner moved the recommendation, it was seconded, and the Plan Commission voted in favor to forward the address change to the village board. If the board adopts the change on schedule, staff said the new official address would become effective Jan. 1, 2026.
