He said Lunar New Year — a floating holiday for 12‑month staff per recent MOAs — will be observed on Dec. 26, 2025, and administrators proposed moving the April 23 full‑day professional learning to May 15 to allow the district to host a school‑age Special Olympics celebration.
The board agreed with the proposed date changes and asked administrators to bring a finalized calendar for approval at the next meeting. The board also preserved May 19 as an early dismissal day because it is the day of the vote, a scheduling choice intended to prioritize safety and reduce congestion on voting day.
