Fitchburg council adopts Cannabis Social Equity Policy

The Fitchburg City Council on Jan. 6 approved a Cannabis Social Equity Policy dated Nov. 14, 2025. The Legislative Affairs Committee presented ORDER 205-25 and the Council approved it "as amended by unanimous consent 11/0."
Councilor Marisa R. Fleming reported the committee action before the full Council took up the motion. The action formalizes the policy framework for local cannabis licensing that the committee developed, with members voting to adopt the policy and send it forward for Mayor signature.
The policy was approved without recorded opposition; the order number is 205-25. The adoption was recorded in the meeting minutes and the order was signed by the Mayor on Jan. 15, 2026.
