Commissioners examined a set of priorities focused on downtown activation, with Falls Avenue singled out for study. Staff stressed the discussion is exploratory and recommended outreach to businesses, residents, and the downtown merchants; one commissioner noted the street was rezoned a decade ago and residential parcels are grandfathered.
Kelly (the chamber representative) volunteered to draft a merchant survey and asked to circulate a draft for review. "I can do it quickly, but I actually want to make sure that we have plenty of time to actually think, through it," Kelly said, and commissioners agreed to review a draft by the next meeting and to use survey results to refine recommendations about closures, one‑way options, signage, dumpsters and beautification.
