The Avon Central School Board on Feb. 10 reviewed capital outlay recommendations and a proposed list of program and equipment requests that administrators estimated would cost $1,385,257 if fully funded.
Superintendent Ryan Pacatte and Business Manager Kristen Murphy presented the update, recommending LED conversion for elementary lighting, small cash projects such as classroom roller shades, and a list of vehicles, lifts, athletic equipment and classroom technology on the district's "blue sky" wish list. The presentation included class-size trend information and a request that the Board provide guidance on priorities. "Estimated cost to fund all wish list items would be $1,385,257," the minutes state.
Trustee Jim Colt asked for advice on prioritizing requests and Trustee Steve Comeau requested a forecast of expected reserves a year from now. The Board did not take formal action on the wish list at the meeting; staff said budget and capital recommendations will return to the Board for further consideration and formal approval when appropriate.
