Commission discusses directing remaining fiscal funds to fall planters and site fixes downtown

At the July 16 meeting the Cleveland Beautification Commission reviewed the June 2026 budget and discussed how to use remaining funds before the end of the fiscal year. Commissioners agreed in principle that a portion of the remainder should be allocated to fall planters to support downtown appearance.
Members also raised a site-safety and aesthetics concern: electrical boxes that were exposed after bed cleanup in the parking lot across from State Farm. Mary Anna Davis said she will inspect the boxes and speak with Public Works to explore removal or remediation options. The commission also listed candidates for next fiscal-year budget priorities, including outsourcing downtown-bed maintenance and continuing the downtown master planting plan.
