Pleasant Prairie trustees voted to set a public hearing for Monday, Nov. 24 on the proposed 2026 general government budget after a staff presentation that outlined operating, capital and debt funds.
Kathy, the staff presenter, told trustees that “the largest revenue source is . . . taxes. It's $16,200,000 or 63.7% of our operating revenue.” She said the recommended levy for next year is about $21,700,000 — an increase of less than $500,000, or roughly 2.13% — but noted updated assessed values could lower the household impact once final numbers arrive.
The motion to set the public hearing was moved by Trustee James Kramer and seconded by Matt Hemby; the board voted in favor. Trustees discussed publication deadlines and were told final mill rates and assessed values will be available before the hearing.
