Shorewood resident urges board to act after repeated high‑speed incidents on Glen Oaks Lane

During the public-comment portion of the April 14 meeting, resident Frank Pastorello described repeated incidents of high-speed driving on Glen Oaks Lane and urged village action to protect children and pedestrians in his neighborhood.
Pastorello recounted stopping a vehicle he said was traveling at excessive speed, pursuing motorcyclists and speaking with officers from the police department about ongoing problems. He suggested temporary barriers delivered to his cul‑de‑sac while the village develops a permanent berm or traffic-calming solution and said, "I'm gonna pay for temporary barriers to put delivered to my house and put them up," to block the street while the board considers options.
Mayor DeBold and staff thanked him for contacting police and encouraged residents to call law enforcement rather than confronting drivers directly. Staff said the police and public-works departments will continue to evaluate mitigation options for the neighborhood.
