Superintendent Scott Grens told the Board that Skokie School District 68 has formally begun a two‑year strategic planning process with Studer Education, which will guide drafting and implementation of a long‑term plan intended for Board approval before the end of the current school year.
Grens said community engagement will begin in January with surveys anticipated to launch on January 5 and be available in commonly spoken district languages; Studer’s process will include initial feedback collection, a draft returned to staff, students, parents and community partners for input, and a second‑year focus on implementation supports. A strategic planning committee was established including board members Jeremy Glickman and Emily Lonigro alongside administrators, teaching assistants, parents and a community partner.
Administrators emphasized that the process will align with the district’s Teaching and Learning priorities and recent audit findings, and that outreach will include creative advertising such as flyers distributed in local businesses to broaden participation.
