Supervisor Brenda Adams told the board that New York State Department of Transportation denied the town’s request to reduce the speed limit at the Route 22 / Love’s off‑ramp area. The board acknowledged the continued danger at the intersection and discussed potential next steps, including a petition drive and formal appeals.
Resident Elijah Falkner, speaking from the audience, said the rescue squad was called to the intersection multiple times in a short period; Falkner reported "the rescue squad was called out last week four times to the area." The board agreed to pursue an appeal, to contact state elected officials, and to consider a petition and an appeal to the regional Traffic Safety Board.
