Trustees approved the final site plan for County Line Solar, a 4.99-megawatt commercial solar energy facility planned on roughly 32.5 acres south of Bell Road, and accepted a plat of dedication related to access and future right-of-way needs.
Planning staff said the final site plan matches the previously approved preliminary plan and includes photovoltaic arrays, pollinator gardens, perimeter landscaping and an agricultural-style fence. "The County Line solar project is a 4.99 megawatt commercial solar energy facility planned for a 32 and 0.5 acre property," the planning presenter stated. The project includes a road dedication to Troy Township for the existing access and a separate 100-foot right-of-way dedication for a future Mound Road extension; staff also noted the applicant considered but did not pursue planting crops between arrays and will instead seed grass and clover.
Jeremy Price, director of development for the project, told trustees construction should complete by year end. Trustees asked whether ownership might transfer; applicant representatives said entitlements will follow the land, and a buyer is tentatively lined up, with the property owner remaining the landowner but project ownership in an LLC. The board approved the site plan by roll-call vote.
