The Shorewood Village Board approved procurement of six temporary speed-hump devices from Traffic Logix at a not-to-exceed price of $50,000.
Public works staff said the village reviewed competing vendors and chose Traffic Logix because it offered a cheaper alternative and local representation to support installation. "Traffic Logic was able to provide to us is, 1, a cheaper alternative for the product that we're looking for," the public works representative explained during the discussion. The board moved and approved the purchase on a roll-call vote.
Trustees asked about placement accuracy and drainage; staff said placement will allow for water drainage and be close to the curve but not off the curve by several feet. The board directed staff to proceed with the purchase and installation plan.
