Board adopts bond resolution to finance up to $30 million for capital project

The Camden Central School District Board of Education voted to adopt a bond resolution authorizing the district to finance a capital project with an estimated maximum cost of $30,000,000.
The resolution, approved Jan. 13, 2026, authorizes issuance of serial bonds or notes in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $30,000,000 and provides that the district may levy taxes as necessary to pay principal and interest. The text names WJ Marquardt PLLC as bond counsel and delegates authority to the Board President as Chief Fiscal Officer to sell the bonds and execute related financing documents. The resolution states SEQRA requirements have been met and that initial expenditures may be reimbursed from bond proceeds under Treasury Regulation Section 1.150-2.
Board members recorded the vote by roll call: Mrs. Swancott, Mr. Petrie, Mrs. Portner, Mr. Carpenter, Mrs. Stone and Mr. Fanning voted in favor; Mr. Mitchell was absent. The board earlier accepted the certification of the Dec. 9, 2025 capital project proposition, which reported 201 yes and 58 no votes and was adopted. The district clerk was directed to publish the statutory summary and notice as required by the Local Finance Law.
