Hearst Free Library reports summer reading, concerts and Shakespeare-in-the-parks plans

Director Sam Walters reported that the library's Summer Reading program, sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the Town Pump "Keep Kids Reading" grant, is proceeding and the last program of the season is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 6. He also listed regularly scheduled programs including Garden Club, Lego Club, Coding Club, Teen Art and Card program, Girl Scouts, the High School Leadership Academy and the Virtual Reality program.
Walters said the Friends of the Library will sponsor a concert by guitarist Gladius on Aug. 13 and will again sponsor the annual Shakespeare in the Parks program on Aug. 23; the school district has offered Fred Moodry auditorium as an indoor backup in case of inclement weather. The Friends will also staff a booth at the town Sidewalk Sale on Aug. 7.
