Public Works said the work is routine preventive maintenance that includes equipment inspection and cleaning the sump pit; staff noted Ares previously handled an emergency repair and performed satisfactorily. Mr. Noriega said the task typically takes about a day and that a bypass will be established when pumps are out of the sump pit to route flow while work is performed.
Trustee Amos moved to approve the proposal; Trustee Babiak seconded and the board voted yes. The approval lets the village implement an annual rotating inspection and cleaning program for its lift stations.
