The Shorewood Village Board approved a resolution to appropriate $1,100,000 in Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds for the village's 2026 resurfacing project.
Director Noriega explained that "in order to use the MFT funds, IDOT requires that the village board authorize the use of such funds by resolution." Staff recommended the resolution so the village can apply the MFT allocation toward the upcoming resurfacing contract.
The motion was moved, seconded and approved by roll call with all trustees voting Yes. Staff said the MFT appropriation allows the village to maximize state‑designated roadway funding and stretch capital funds further.
