Shorewood launches 'Notable Neighbors' recognition and honors four residents

The village introduced its first round of the Notable Neighbors recognition program, accepting nominations from residents from Oct.–Dec. 2025 and honoring four recipients for civic contributions. The mayor described the effort as a way to "recognize individuals, groups, organizations, and businesses that are making significant contributions to our community."
Recipients included Miles Contorski, recognized for an Eagle Scout project that built a little lending library and benches at Mimica Junior High School; Brian Edowitz, honored for his neighborhood assistance and event hosting; Michael Claw, recognized for consistent neighbor support; and John and Kathy Stahl, who were unable to attend and will receive their award later. The board said it will publish the recognitions on the village website and social media.
