Shorewood staff recommends temporary lighting so new vet clinic can open

Village staff briefed the board on Dec. 9 about a veterinary clinic that is nearly finished inside but is delayed by delivery of parking-lot light poles. Staff said the developer and contractor have requested permission to use temporary light trailers in the late afternoon and evening so the business can open for service while permanent poles are awaited.
Staff said the temporary trailers would be limited—turned off at night to avoid disturbing residents—and used only until permanent poles and roadway lighting are installed. "We think that's an excellent compromise so that they can open," the staff presenter said. The mayor instructed staff to continue working with the contractor and property owner to implement the temporary measure if necessary; no formal vote was taken, and staff were directed to proceed with the compromise if no objections were raised.
