Shorewood approves $60,000 pavement condition survey to guide resurfacing

Public works staff told the board the pavement condition survey is a routine, data‑driven study performed every five years that measures roadway deflection to assess the structural integrity of the pavement base. "This study will inspect our roadway pavement system and actually measure the deflection in our roadway as it drives over it," the public works representative said, noting the village has roughly 80 miles of roadway and about 300 lane miles to manage.
Staff recommended approving a professional services agreement with Infrastructure Management Services (IMS) not to exceed $60,000 to inform annual resurfacing programming. Trustee Selfridge moved the measure and Trustee Babiak seconded; a roll call vote recorded all affirmative and the contract was approved on the consent of the board.
