Engineering staff told the board that the Dollar Tree project completed roughly $20,000 in stormwater-related public improvements and posted an initial bond to cover the work plus 25 percent; consultants inspected the work and recommended acceptance. The board accepted the improvements and established a maintenance bond for 15 percent of the project cost — $2,992.50 — which will remain in place for two years after which staff will reinspect and recommend release if the work remains in good condition.
Trustee Selfridge moved to accept the public improvements and establish the maintenance bond; Trustee Babiak seconded and the resolution passed on roll call. Staff said they will re-inspect the work near the end of the two-year period and return to the board with a recommendation to release the bond if appropriate.
