The Shorewood Village Board adopted its tax-levy ordinance for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2025, and ending March 31, 2026, setting a proposed levy of $2,320,101.58. Finance staff said the levy proposal holds the village’s tax-rate level from the last two years and that the county’s estimated assessed value (EAV) will be finalized in the spring; the village may lower the levy then if desired but cannot raise it.
“The total levy in dollars is $2,320,101.58,” the finance presentation stated. Trustees moved and seconded the ordinance on its second reading and approved it on roll call. The finance director said increases in the levy reflect actuarially determined police pension contributions and additional amounts posted to the corporate line for day-to-day operations.
