Loyalton council reaffirms water emergency and hears project update

On July 15 the Loyalton City Council reaffirmed a State of Emergency for the city's water distribution system and agreed to place follow-up on the next agenda. Councilmember S. Mcllravy moved to reaffirm the emergency declaration and J. Gerow seconded; the motion carried.
Mayor Markum provided a brief update on the water project and said it "should be able to start soon," indicating the work remains in pre-construction or procurement. During public comment resident D. Lawlor spoke about water service and the possibility of placing a private well on property along Route 49; the council did not take immediate action on private well authority but noted the concern for staff follow-up.
