District technology and operations staff briefed the board on recent work to modernize infrastructure and strengthen safety protocols. The technology team described a recent security audit and advances in endpoint protection and cloud infrastructure, saying the district has migrated services to a secured cloud virtual environment and implemented advanced endpoint-detection tools. "We have successfully migrated the entire district to servers infrastructure that are secured cloud based virtual environment, which guarantees a 99.9% uptime for service accessibility for all staff and students," a technology presenter said.
Staff also reported a district-wide device refresh for student iPads and teacher laptops and continued work on system integration including a local "Nexus" portal to reduce duplicated workflows. On safety and transportation, staff cited installation of panic buttons, lockdown broadcasting capabilities, upgraded bus fleet technology and evaluation of bus camera systems with a possible Verkada implementation to provide live-capture data for buses. Staff said the district is working with local law enforcement on drills and has upgraded radio communications between buses and buildings.
