District outlines Summer 2025 maintenance and Summer 2026 Edison classroom upgrades
Summary
The district plans to use its routine $500,000 annual maintenance budget for Summer 2025 small projects (including Madison) and aims in Summer 2026 to update roughly 20–21 Edison classrooms; staff said they hope to secure a $50,000 School Maintenance Grant to resurface Edison’s parking lot.

Administrators told the subcommittee that Summer 2025 work will be funded from the district’s typical annual maintenance allocation of $500,000 and will focus on small projects at Madison. For Summer 2026, the district plans larger work at Edison — targeting about 20 to 21 classrooms for HVAC, lighting, flooring and cabinetry updates — contingent on financing, including a potential $4 million Life Safety bond.
Staff also said the district hopes to receive a $50,000 School Maintenance Grant to complete a parking lot resurfacing project at Edison. These maintenance and capital timing decisions will be coordinated with the Master Facility Plan so short‑term fixes do not conflict with later renovation or addition work at Madison.
