Tucker Management Committee approves Tucker Mountain ordinances with Select Board amendments

The Tucker Management Committee unanimously approved amended Tucker Mountain ordinances during its June 8, 2026 meeting, following a motion by Kathy Damon and a second from Steve Gale. The approved changes remove commercial and public-use sections at the Select Board's direction, add language allowing Memorial Day gate openings contingent on "weather permitting or road conditions permitting," and eliminate the committee's role in determining snow cover for snowmobile corridor use because VAST will manage those decisions.

Committee members said the camping regulations remain under local control: the ordinances require permission from the committee and/or the Select Board to prevent unauthorized extended stays, although the committee noted that the specific implementation process for that enforcement is still being developed. The motion passed with all members recorded as voting in favor.
