The Burke Town Board voted March 11 to appoint Debbie Kemp as the town’s new bookkeeper, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of Linda Trudell. The board also approved a subsequent motion to set Kemp’s pay “at the rate agreed to for the budget,” a motion made by Tim Crippen and seconded by Paddy Wheeler. The resolution text certified by Town Clerk Judy Tavernier records the appointment: "NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED: The Town Board of the Town of Burke has agreed to appoint Debbie Kemp to fulfill the vacant position for the year 2025."
