Wadsworth traces Prescott Valley's shift from private wells to a town water system

Neil Wadsworth, the town's utilities director, described the town's early water-system gaps and the projects that followed.
Wadsworth said the town did not originally have a unified water system; Viewpoint served one subdivision while the private Shamrock Water System served the rest. "I believe that was January 1999," Wadsworth said of the town's acquisition of Shamrock. He added that early capital work included installing "a 3,000,000 gallon water tank" and drilling the Fat Chance Well, "able to produce 2,400 gallons of water a minute," to address shortfalls during summer demand spikes.
