District counselors updated the board on CaliforniaColleges implementation and how the platform is being used to support college and career planning.
Counseling staff emphasized three platform functions: a career interest profiler, a college search and direct launching of UC/CSU/CSU applications and a financial aid and FAFSA resource hub. "Nearly 80% of our students have had at least 1 login," a counselor reported, and staff said they are targeting 100% next year through classroom lessons and counselor outreach.
Presenters described integrations with Aeries and the platform's multi-language support for families. Counselors noted implementation challenges early in the rollout and said the district will continue classroom presentations, parent outreach and technical alignment with ARIES and partner colleges.
