The Deming Public Schools Board accepted a PSCOC award letter received June 25 and approved moving forward with demolition and abatement work that the PSCOC will fund.
Superintendent (functional) told the board that PSCOC will participate at 100% for abatement and demolition costs for affected school properties: "The PSCOC, will participate 100% in the, of the abatement preparation and demolition of, school properties." The board accepted the award letter and related packet items so staff could proceed before the Aug. 21 acceptance deadline.
Board members discussed logistics of awarding contracts and completing scope-of-work documents; staff said PSFA will issue POs for projects funded directly and that some tasks (like asbestos abatement) can extend project timelines. The board voted unanimously to accept the award(s) and requested staff follow up with necessary documentation.
