The Selectboard voted June 22 to pave 0.42 miles of Sweet Hollow Road after receiving SD Ireland’s offer of $83.70 per ton. The board discussed whether to pave the entire section or only part of it; Tom Howrigan moved to pave the whole .42-mile segment, Damian Branon seconded and the motion passed with all in favor.
During discussion, Maurice Jettie explained the contractor’s price and options for partial or full paving. Brian Dubie requested that next year Maurice provide the rationale and prioritization criteria for selecting which road segments are paved, so the board and public can better understand how projects are chosen and scheduled.
